    Mike Nock solo piano

*Last week: complexity*.  four bands, twelve musicians. standards, new
compositions, and improvisations.  thanks for coming, we raised some
good money which will tune the piano, replace the broken glasses, and
fill the coffee pot.

*This week: simplicity*.  One man and a piano.  A really good man, a
really good piano. 

*Touch* was the first ever cd on Birdland Records. It topped the jazz
charts that year and was nominated for an ARIA, and is now out of print. 
>From the hauntingly beautiful "Touch Her Soft Lips And Part" to the
stirring "Nikosa Sikelela Afrika" the album is a sonic treasure, crafted
by one of our favourite jazz masters. To hear Mike Nock perform it live,
in the comfortable silence of the Colbourne Ave venue, will be a chance
to hear solo piano at it's most soulful.
